ABS SYSTEM
How do you manage to stay on the surface? The ABS TwinBags not only provide a significant increase in volume, but also an unparalleled dynamic lift due to their streamlined shape. We have taken the ABS system fully apart for you in order to explain all the components and their operating principles in detail, from the piercing of the cartridge to the filling and housing of the ABS TwinBags and the fill and outlet valve. Since 1985, the system has been perfected in line with the latest developments in close cooperation with avalanche experts, mountain guides, academics and athletes. What makes the ABS system such an essential piece of avalanche emergency equipment alongside the avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel? ABS is the only self-rescue system that has proven its life-saving effectiveness over the years. Of the 262 persons whose ABS avalanche airbag was activated, 97% survived, 84% were uninjured. At the beginning of the season, you should always perform a training activation of your ABS TwinBag system – perform the winter check to (re)familiarize yourself with your ABS TwinBag. You can activate the system either at home, outside or at your dealer's. The dealer will give you expert advice and, for a small fee, will replace the used activation unit with a new one.
